Carolina Foods, Inc. is pleased to recognized Mary McLaughlin for her 38 years of dedicated service. She just retired on June 20th.  She agreed to do a quick Q&A with us about her time here at Carolina Foods.

How long have you been with Carolina Foods?
38 years

What is your position at the company?
I started with Carolina Foods back in 1976 working on the Coburn line filling baked pies.  It was all done by hand for the most part, that’s what made the pies so good.  They were like homemade pies.  I worked on the pie line for 13 years.  Then, I worked on the New Dunkin Stick line as a feeder for 13 years.  After the Dunkin Stick line, I started working on the Honey Bun line as a packer/feeder and have done that for 12 years.

What is your favorite Carolina Foods Duchess product?
I love the Fried Apple Pies and Honey Buns

What is one of your favorite work memories?
I have always enjoyed working with the people of Carolina Foods, Inc.  Way back in the day, the women of the plant would cook and bake and bring it in for lunch like one big happy family.

Family at Carolina Foods
My grandson works for Carolina Foods and my son is a former employee.

We will miss you, Mary!
